Director of Turramurra Beehive
Julie lives locally with her four sons and has been connected with Beehive since relocating from the UK seventeen years ago. Her youngest son attended Turramurra Beehive, which is where Julie began her childcare career. Julie took on the role as director at Killara Beehive in January 2015 before moving back to Turramurra Beehive in October.
I believe all children have the right to feel safe, secure and supported while in care, and should be offered a rich and stimulating environment in which to grow and develop. Young children learn through their play experiences. Extending on their thinking, and intentionally introducing them to new learning experiences ensures they are encouraged and challenged to reach their full potential.
Each child is unique and through their diversity contributes to each other’s learning. All children and their families are of equal importance, and must be treated with respect, irrespective of their background or cultural beliefs. I encourage open communication between families and staff that fosters harmonious relationships.
I believe in old-fashioned values. Good manners, social skills and respect are fundamental in a child’s development and stays with them through to adulthood.
