Our Staff - Wahroonga BEEHIVE

" I have been working as an early child educator for over 20 years in a range of pre schools, long day care services, family day care and school settings. Fortunately for the last 7 years I have been part of the wonderful Beehive family teaching and directing in both the Turramurra and Wahroonga centers. I am also very lucky to have my own family of three “big” kids who are now finishing their final years of high school.

I am very passionate about early childhood education and I am devoted to the provision of quality education for young children. Early childhood is a crucial stage in our development. All children need to have time to play, to be excited by learning and to develop at their own pace. As an educator I believe it is my job to discover those special qualities that are unique to every child and support them to learn and to discover their world. Developing a love of learning, a thrill at discovering new things and a joy at sharing their experiences with others forms the foundation of all future learning.

I also strongly believe that parental involvement in a child’s education at any age underpins a child becoming a successful happy learner. For me the wonderful working relationships I develop with my Beehive families are what make my job really the best job in the world."

Wahroonga Beehive Staff- Angela" I have been teaching in early childhood settings for 7 years now, 2 of which I have been at Wahroonga Beehive. Over this time I have developed a passion for teaching and educating children in their final year of preschool as well as preparing them for their schooling life.

I believe it is important to introduce a solid routine and structure, within a nurturing environment for all children preparing for school. Through play and new experiences children obtain the social and cognitive skills needed to begin their schooling life.

I believe it is also vital to instil a desire for learning and encourage children to make a variety of choices to enable them to gain skills in all areas of development.

I believe that for children to grow and develop in an environment, staff and families need to have common goals and work together to achieve these.

Beehive has a strong belief in catering to each individual child and family which I feel helps to add to the happy and inviting environment which Beehive provides. "
